1. The short version
madewith.lol is a small independent project made in Portugal: footer badges that say where and with what a site was made, and a planet of the sites that wear them. We collect as little as we can, keep it in the European Union, and never sell it.
- No trackers, no ads cookies, no scripts from other companies on our pages: we count visits ourselves, as plain numbers.
- An account is just an email address, with no password.
- Badge views are counted without cookies and without keeping anything that identifies a visitor.
- We don't sell data, share it for advertising, or use it to profile anyone.
2. Using madewith.lol
Free badges are free to use on any site, for as long as you like. madewith.lol is offered as it is: we look after it carefully, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes (the weather in a badge, for one, comes from public sources). Nothing here limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
To put a site on the planet you need an account: log in with your email, add the site, and it lands when one of our badges is found on it. That shows the site is yours. Its domain, the place and emoji of its badge and its number of arrival in its city are then public on the planet. We look for the badge again once a day; a site whose badge is gone fades and leaves the planet after 30 days. A site added but never found leaves the account after 3 days. To take a site off, remove it from your account or write to hello@madewith.lol.
3. The rules
Don't use madewith.lol:
- for spam, or on sites that are illegal, deceptive or spread illegal content;
- to impersonate someone, or to suggest a partnership with madewith.lol or anyone else that isn't real;
- to overload the service (automated requests at volume, scraping, using badge addresses as a free image or data API), to get around its limits, or to probe its security;
- with a brand, logo or name you have no right to use.
Ads and event pins on the planet can't be adult content, gambling, weapons, tobacco or drugs, crypto or money promises, political or issue ads, or anything illegal or misleading.
We may take down a site, a brand or an ad that breaks these rules, and close accounts that keep doing it. To report something, write to hello@madewith.lol with where it is and why; a person reads every report.
4. Paid extras
Live badges, plans for several sites or studios, and ads are not sold on the site for now. You ask for them by email and we set them up by hand. Anything about price, what's included and how to pay is agreed in that email exchange before you pay anything.

We use this data to run the service you asked for, and to keep it safe and free of abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). We make no automated decisions about you. madewith.lol is not meant for children.
7. Who helps us
Cloudflare hosts the site and the badges, keeps the database (set to store and process data only within the European Union) and sends our login emails, under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare is a US company, so some processing may happen outside Europe, protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Live badges ask Open-Meteo, Nager.Date and GitHub for weather, holidays and repository data. They get place names, coordinates or repository names, never anything about you or your visitors. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us, at any time and for free:
- for a copy of your data, in a format you can reuse;
- to correct it, or to delete it and your account with everything in it;
- to restrict how we use it, or to object to it.
Write to hello@madewith.lol from your account's email; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD, or to the one where you live.
9. Security
Everything travels encrypted. Login links and sessions are stored only as one-way hashes, secrets live only on the server, and old data is deleted automatically. If a breach ever put your data at risk, we would tell the authority and, where it matters to you, you.
10. Changes and contact
When this page changes, the date at the top changes; if a change matters to you, we tell you by email first. Questions about any of it: hello@madewith.lol.
